Month 8: April
Week 39-
Fionna's POV:
I smirked at Marshall as he went
inside the house to get a new
bucket of soapy water. He scowled as he passed me and I blew him a
kiss. He's so mad right now. His April Fool's prank from yesterday
kinda backfired on him.
His plan was to get me to step on a
certain rock and then purple
sludge would fall all over me. Too bad he put too much sludge and it
burst all over the cave before I even got there. His face was priceless.
Gumball was here helping as well, to
make up for what I can't do.
Pfft, not like I would've helped him either way. It's karma for trying
to sludge a pregnant girl.
Gumball smiled at me as he went
inside to get more soapy water as
well. I laid my hands on my stomach and sighed. It's really big and
bulging now. "When will you just come out and be part of the
family?"
I mumbled to my baby. She kicked and I giggled. She kicked harder, a
signal for me to stop laughing.
I obeyed and rubbed my stomach. This
child sure is gonna be crazy.
Marshall Lee's POV:
I poured the soap into my bucket of
water angrily. "'Sup," I heard
behind me. I put the soap down and turned around. Bubba.
"Whaddaya want?" I asked
with a rough tone.
He scowled at me and made himself a
new batch of soapy water. "I'm
just here helping is all," he replied, "The least you can do is
thank
me."
I nodded in his direction.
"Thanks," I muttered.
"You're welcome," he
chirped. I shook my head and we walked out to
clean the cave. I knew I put too much sludge, I knew it! Why didn't I
listen to my gut?
We've worked all night and have
gotten most of it off of the
ceiling and walls. All that's left is the floor. I grabbed a mop from
the floor and threw one at Bubba. He muttered a thanks and we mopped
for hours. The purple sludge was all outside, getting washed away by
the April showers. The sun was up and Lord took Bubba home.
I looked back at the house and heard
the faint sound of my bunny
snoring. I flew up to our bedroom window and let myself in. I dressed
into my pajamas and threw myself onto the bed and got under the
covers. I hugged Fi from behind and snuggled into her silky golden
hair. "Good night, Bunny," I cooed into her ear.
...
I hugged Fi from behind and nibbled
on her neck. She giggled and
pushed at me to stop. "C'mon! Not while he's in my arms!" she
exclaimed.
I looked at her with an eyebrow
raised. "Whatchu talkin' 'bout
Willis?" I said with a chuckle. She gestured to something in her arms.
I peered over her shoulder and saw a toddler staring at me in amazement.
"Papa?" he called. He
reached up and honked my nose with an
incredible force.
"Ah, you little brat!" I
exclaimed.
Fionna scowled up at me and held the
kid to her chest as he began
to sob. "Don't yell at our son like that!" she yelled. She walked
away
and rocked the blonde boy back and forth. "It's okay, Pen. It's okay.
Papa didn't mean it," she cooed into his hair.
I'm that baby's dad?! No way that is
possible. Fionna was pregnant
just moments ago!
She turned around with a now giggling
toddler and walked over to
me. "Pendleton has something to tell you Marsh. Isn't that right
Pen?"
she looked at the smiling child.
He nodded and turned towards me. He
reached out and looked at
Fionna for approval. She nodded and let him go. He was falling to the
floor and I reached out to grab the poor child. I was too late. I shut
my eyes, expecting to see a splattered baby on the floor. I opened one
eye and jumped at the sight of Pen floating in my face.
He wrapped his plump little arms
around my neck and giggled. "I'm
sorry, Papa!" he exclaimed. He hugged my neck tightly and I just
stood
there. Shocked.
I looked behind Pendleton at Fionna.
She nodded and shook her
hands as if saying, 'Go on.'
I sighed and hugged the child.
"I forgive you, Pen," I said. He
pecked my cheek and giggled. Fionna pulled him off of me and he began
to float among the room.
Fionna linked our arms together and
leaned on my shoulder. "Isn't
he a gem?" she cooed. He giggled and threw Schawbelle in the air a
couple times.
I sighed and wrapped an arm over my
bunny. "Totes ours," I replied.
...
I blinked, trying to lift my heavy
eyelids. So, it's a boy eh? I
prefer it being a girl, but Fionna will be happy. But should I really
name him after my father? I mean, he's most likely never gonna be in
his life. I hugged Fionna from behind and cradled her swelling stomach.
She's going to go through so much pain.
As am I for causing it to
happen. Guilt is a heavy burden. Huh, I can't remember who said those
words to me.
"Marsh?" Fionna whispered
underneath my chin.
"Yeah, Bunny?" I kissed her
forehead tenderly.
She sat up abruptly and felt around
the covers. "Did you wet the
bed?" she asked seriously.
I felt around the covers and feeling
around for what she was talking
about. Sure enough, it was damp around our crotch areas. "Did you
have
a little too much water before going to sleep, Fi?" I asked her.
"Wha-? No I di- UGGH!" she
grabbed her stomach and crouched over.
I grabbed her by her elbow.
"Fionna!" I exclaimed. "A-Are you okay?"
She shook her head and cried out in
pain again. She grabbed me by
my shoulders and shook me violently. "Get me to Gumball, NOW!"
she
shrieked.
